Hi all,

I’ve bought a new FF Dreamer a week ago. I printed two small parts . Everything was OK. And then i tried the third print. Although i selected left extruder it started heating right extruder. When i clicked the stop button on the printer it got mad. The platform rised up very fast and started to push z stop switch. I turned off the power switch. But the z switch was broken untill then.

I’ve seen same madness on a YouTube video too. The user was very lucky, because the z switch was ok after the incident.

I’m still waiting for FF’s response.

You should be able to clip the metal bit back into place, and bend the switch back. It’d be a bit fiddly with the bed it the way, so you may want to unscrew the end stop first. If the switch itself is damaged, you can get a new one at an electronics store on ebay and re solder it.

I faced a similar situation but with switch on the right side. I fixed it with a strong adhesive. Its working fine till now.

Really ? I’ve thought that the metal clip was broken. I will give it a try. But if the switch is damaged ,sorry i’ve no soldering knowledge.

Thank you ,

Did you figure out why the bed did not stop lifting once the switch was depressed?

I would look for an update for your printer I also have the FF Dreamer and I’ve updated twice. Had the printer bout 2 months now. It works well but has some quirks freezes during a print sometimes.

I think the problem was occured from software weakness. I printed two successfull prints before the malfunction. So the switch should be OK. Lets see the video. My situation is the same. Please look at 14:30 min.

It’s probably a good time to start, 3D printers aren’t exactly ready for prime time so repairs will eventually be needed. A switch like this is a safe way to learn since a bad solder wouldn’t damage the machine. Also they are cheap, brand new could cost 2.50USD from mouser. Ebay it’s like 90 cents or such. They’ve sent a new switch. And the printer works now. But there are some questions in my mind. The new switch pushes on the screw head at the very edge of it. Is this contact point right ?I think taht if the switch arm would slide on it the screw head would block the switch again. What do you think ?
