Good idea and reminded me of an issue I had a long time back.

check, clean and lube the Z axis lead screw. Mine, on a similar machine had gotten dirty and dry from always running in the same general range and when I did a taller print it then went out of the range it had been in and got some resistance and caused the bed to skew slightly horizontally from the turning motion shifting the layers.

Hey. The slice appears to be spot on. The file is only one section of a much larger file which was cut and repaired on netfabb. This is file number 15 of 16. Every other file before has 0rintes perfect. I’ve had the speed as low as 30mm but no luck

Hey. I ran the file through netfabbs repair but still prints the same. I’m using flashforges own pla which says 210degress however i was getting much cleaner prints at 215 I’ve had the speed as low as 30mm with no luck

Hey. I did suspect the z but I have printed other files perfect with no lines in the same location on the bed. I’ve tried this particular file 4 times and the lines are at the exact same heights

See if you can “sink” the model lower on the build plate so that the “bad” area prints at a different height in relation to the bed. In some slicers you can lower the model through the build plate so that only the part about will print. This could eliminate the model as the problem. Also is the layer shifts more prominent on a particular side? This is how I discovered the lead screw was causing the bed to turn on its axis ever so slightly. The layer shift was on the side that would be against the rotation of the lead screw. In other words the bed moved in a counter-clockwise direction and the shift stuck out on the right side of the model the most.

Other things would be to see what could be binding at those heights. Is something hitting the cabinet?

Not location on the bed but height. Every model started to get the lines at the same height.

Just the one particular model gets lines at the set heights other models I’ve tried don’t get the lines at the same heights.

I have rotated the model 180 in z axis but the lines remain in the same location of the print whichever way I rotate which leads me to suspect it’s the file itself. Or the settings in flashprint. I’ve checked every component for binding slipping. Loose screws. Pulleys. Cleaned rods and lead screw. As for the file I’ve repaired it in netfabb. It seems very odd. I’m going to try printing it in flashprints fine setting although it doubles the print time

Ok, well that is probably a good sign. See if you can lower the model through the build plate in the slicer so the affected area is closer to the bed (shift the Z position of the model down). That way you may see if the lines remain in the same location on the model or they print at the same height off the bed. We want to see if we can tell if the shift is in the model or with hardware.

Another thing to look at is the infill or anything in the model in that area that may be different. Also how many perimeters are you using? If only a few try with more. I had one recently where the infill was pushing through the perimeters on the lower layers. It was an odd one.

Ok, so if the lines are on the left side and you rotate 180 the are now on the right? That would sure seem like the model. Is this the latest version of Flashprint?

I would be willing to try a print to see if it still does it but it would be on a Creator Pro so not the exact machine.

How about Simplify3D slicer to generate the .3g file.

I have looked at the file in my slicer and don’t see anything obvious. I did notice however that it will generate supports if I turn it on. I will have to look closer but I wonder if these overhang areas on the inside of the print coincide with your lines?

Haven’t had time to try a print yet.

Ok so i think ive figured the problem. When i cut my big stl in smaller peices on netfabb. I then level each peice on the z axis to sit flush on my platform. However I noticed that when I send these files to flashprint some do not sit flush on the platform and no supports are generated between the model and raft. My theory is it causes a layering problem on the side of the print which was not level to the platform. I have made sure the model is completely level and am currently printing a test peice. I will report back with the results. Thanks to everyone for your help. My print is also the latest iron man suit from avengers infinity war mk51 if anyone is interested in the building of these suits
