Hi All,
I brought a Duinotech 4090 from Jaycar (Pre-built Dual Filament 3D Printer | Jaycar Electronics), and while learning the ropes managed to get a few decent print out.
Not the extruder head appears to have homed in the back right corner of the enclosure (facing front), and when i attempt to print via SD card or via ReplicatorG, it just keeps banging hard up against the chasiss, as if it’s completely lost its bearings…
Can anyone suggest how i can fix this? The model i purchased was floor stock, and hence did not come with a manual that the store can locate. Any help would be much appreciated!

Before each print the machine will orient itself by going to the extreme of x/y where there should some kind of endstop/switch to trigger. When the printer tries to do this is it moving away from those endstops or towards them? If it’s not moving towards them then you need to either invert the axis or change the homing direction from min to max or vise versa(I’m not familiar with your software/hardware specifically)

The printer is attempting to move AWAY from the place where it used to move to before each print (front left).
I’ll see if i can turn your advice into something tangible within the software. It does seem as though the axis have been inverted (but i dont know how this would have happened)

Nevermind… Stupid mistake on my part… I left a screw undone which was hitting the top of the enclosure
Sweet! Mistakes that are easy to fix are the best kind.

My next challenge… To work out how to change filaments! Then from there how to use 2 extruders etc.
Its hard without a manual
Hey, I have the same printer. Also recently purchased from Jaycar. An important thing to know about this printer is that it’s a clone of the Malyan M180. I couldn’t find any information to help me troubleshoot it initially because there was nothing out there about the Duinotech TL-4090. Other things to note;
- Replicator G and Simplify3D are the only bits of software I have found that work properly with this printer.
I wasted so much time trying all the freeware but because it’s Makerbot it’s closed source and doesn’t work with most of the free software. I finally bit the bullet and purchased Simplify3D (which has a custom profile for the Malyan M180) and it has fixed all the problems I have had with ReplicatorG.
- The banging against the chassis might be a problem with the gcode you’re exporting. Are you using Skeinforge or Slicer? I found slicer f-ed up all my prints with weird code. It’s poorly implemented into ReplicatorG. Again, look into Simplify3D. I’m amazed no one at Jaycar was able to help direct me towards any useful information online. The manual is also atrocious and barely intelligible. It’s as though it was written in Chinese then put through google translate. You should be able to find a manual here. end stopper set for malyan 3d printer – Malyan System
