I have a design that I would like to either have printed or have a printer model recommendation. I do not see any consecutive materials listed in the hub section.
Suggestions?

What material do you want for this print? My printer would have a build volume that’s large enough and dual extrusion. Do you need to have conductive material in the print or did I miss-read the thread? For better tolerances you shouldn’t choose ABS because it will contract while it cools down. If you can please send me the file that you want to have printed via mail … Or as a comment to this, also you can contact me via my hub, but I am not able to print for the next 2weeks because of exams. If you need the part printed earlier I am not the one that can make it for you. https://www.3dhubs.com/siegen/hubs/marius More information about my print quality and the materials is on my hub or upon request. Just feel free to ask anything if you have questions. -Marius
Hey Marius, thanks again for your input - very helpful and knowledgeable as always! Just a heads up though that I moderated your email out. Moving forward, it would be great if you could use only a link to your hub profile as means of contact. Thanks for your understating. Cheers

Hi Gabriela, I’m aware of this, but I made the experience, that customers hesitate to contact a hub by “requesting a quote”, most people are more comfortable with email communication. Also discussing CAD services isn’t something, that I want to do in a public thread. I’ll just use my hub link in the future, except when the customer asks for guidance, for example guidance via a Skype call. I also prefer email for file sharing. I hope that you can understand, why I sometimes also write down my email address, I’ll avoid it in the future. -Marius

In total I will need 8 pieces given 3 models, all with that approximate size of 8x16x5mm. The primary material can be any plastic that reasonably meets the tolerance. I am prototyping so there is room for error. The conductive portion will be like wires embedded in the units - simply thick cylinders.
I am in the US. Is there an issue shipping?

First of all there is absolutely no shipping issue, I can send to every place on earth.
I am currently not printing with conductive materials, would it be possible to insert copper cylinders into the model to create the necessary electric connections? Please send me the (or one of them) models or pictures of them, so that I can see how complex those parts are.
I could get my hands on conductive filament, but because I would get the filament just for your models the price per cm³ would be quite high.
You said, that the models are for prototyping, do they interact with something or why is there the need for them to have 0,1mm tolerances ?
Please send me the files by “requesting a quote” on my hub, I can only give you estimations about the realizability and cost of the print when I get more details.

Thats great !
I’m looking forward to use this feature! Will the personal messaging include the possibility to share files, pictures and maybe even videos?
Also it would be awesome, if there would be a feature in the messaging that makes it possible to start an order instandly just from the messaging box. I mean that a Hub and customer could discuss the specifications of the prints and then the customer could click on a button that either links to a site where the customer could place an order for the hub, or the order form would be posted in the discussion so that the hub owner could guide his/her customer through the process of making an order. This would reduce the time that the hub would have to invest for checking the order details and adjusting the order while allways having to wait on the customers replies.
These are just some thoughts i quickly made up, maybe these are realizable, maybe they are useless. However I just wanted to mention these recommendations.

How do I distinguish materials on the STL file?

There’s barely any way to delete a part from an stl model, because you’d most likely end up with a model, that isn’t solid, as some polygones are missing in the object.
You’d have to modify it in CAD software and output a new .stl file, however there are some possibilities of distinguishing a part of an stl file in the slicing software. Might you send me the file for further help ?

I have not forgotten, just got too busy. My designs are updated. I can send you the STL file. They are generated in Tinkercad.

If you want my thoughts on those models you could either send them to me (contact information in another comment) or you upload them to your comment.
