So my Dremel 3D20 Idea Builder was working wonders the first few weeks but recently when I tried to connect through usb i get a popup saying “error connection failed” I’ve tried restarting the printer, my computer and using a different cable. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello!! I had the same trouble, maybe this could help:
1st) Try to RESET your printer (the button is a small black dot on the right of the SD card reader)
… if the problem continues
2) Do you have a micro SD card reader? (you’ll need it) For this step follow instructions in the pdf I’m attaching and you’re going to substitute files in the micro SD from this link: Dropbox - File Deleted
(there’s two images as example)
… hopefully, problem should be solved so try to update firmware as soon as you can read your printer with the usb cord the newest firmware can be downloaded from Dremel/support/downloads or Dropbox - File Deleted

So sorry, I may have missed it, but exactly what did you do between steps 6 and 7. You remove the SD card, then re-install the SD card and what? Does it just magically receive the new image via osmosis? I am certain the SD card will need to be re-formatted and re-imaged as opposed to copying files. What did you do between steps 6 and 7?
