Hello,

I wanted to know if there exist any specific design guidelines in regards to the direct energy deposition process. Majority of the websites talk about guidelines for DMLS,SLM,SLS,FDM processes but not much could be found for DED. Thanks

Hi,

This is most likely because DED is mostly used for in-house industrial production, and isn’t yet used for commercial printing or manufacturing due to the price and complexity. It would be great to see this technology become more widespread though!

@MaddieG Thanks a lot for the reply. It saved me a lot of time since I was trying to look up research articles and a host of other websites for info on DED guidelines
