Hi I have a printer that has developed a weird stutter or skip and I am not sure where to focus on a fix. I have attached a video link so you can see and hear what it is doing.
The problem is intermitant so its harder for me to isolate. I am hoping somebody is familiar with what it is doing.
It is a china kit (where I am still trying to fix a 7-point leveling issue and is not related to this question, sorry)

Well, it’s certainly regular and repeated. Maybe an alignment issue on one of the arms?
Check the voltage across the drivers.
As shown in this video above. I would recommend using the ground wire (from your regulated 12v power supply) rather than the end of the driver just in case you slip and short it frying everything. I set mine right at 4.5 volts and it worked really well. Helps a lot to have a second set of hands. I usually have my wife hold the multi-meter while I hold a screwdriver on the adjustment screw. She puts the positive side on the metal screwdriver and the negative side on the ground from the 12v power supply. Very small movements on the those drivers. They are very sensitive.
Another recommendation would be to move your bowden tube. That way it isnt near any moving parts. If it gets caught up during a print it could cause your printer to malfunction and even tear itself apart or throw it off a desk.
