Hey, I am having a problem where my filament is slipping out of the extruder. It makes a loud thud and some of the filament slips out, but is pulled back in. It is not much of an issue since I still got a successful 9 hour print with the filament slipping.
I just want to try to minimize my chances of failure and I am wondering if anyone had fixed this in the past.
Thanks,
I had a similar issue. This issue dissappeared after deep cleaning of the nozzle and cleaning of the extruder (with the supplied brush). The manual and instruction videos on the XYZ-website are very clear how to do this. In my case the main issue was clogging of ‘old’ filament in the nozzle. After doing this also the printing quality will improve. I repeat this on a regular basis. It also helps to use the nozzle cleaning pin to poke the nozzle after long prints. Check your filament as well. I had a dodgy batch that had little “nodules” on the filament that were causing it to get caught in the hole of the cartridge. It would stop pulling through and then go bang when it finally let go.
