Hey there,
I’m struggling to print the hook of my Marvin Properly.
I own a CubePro Duo and I have just moved to the Simplify3D software.
It prints most of the Marvin better than the CubePro Software, but when it gets to the hook it just messes it up.
I’m still relatively new to g-code and trying to get my head round it all and willing to learn, and figure out what all the settings are.
I’m thinking I need to lower the speed, lower the flowrate and somehow create a cool down between layers.
Any help?

I’ve attached the full marvin in White ABS at 200 microns (CubePro, lower quality print but better hook (left) and Simplify 3D better print but bad hook (right), and my attempts at just the hook in Magenta ABS.
I suggest you to use the function in Simplify that with enable cross section let you have different settings depending on the dimensions of the part to print. I also suggest you lower the speed when printing the hook. Sorry for my poor english but there are some tutorials on Simplify site to help you.
I have a cubepro trio and marvin printed fine with the cubepro software.
Have you double checked your printer alignment settings?

Hi there,
I think is the best configuration and result you can get with CubeX Duo. We’ve the same trouble with a similar object and dowloading Cura (a free Gcode generator) we’ve solved it.

I use a cube pro trio and duo and my marvins look pretty good.
I had absolutely no problems. You should check the settings.

I don’t see how to configure simplify3D for the cubepro Duo how did you do that?

I am struggling to get solid walls with the stock software from 3dsystems with my cubepro duo. i saw you were using cura for yours. Are you getting solid walls? (when I say solid walls i mean walls thicker then 2mm. the printer will do two parallel walls)
I started to check if I can use cura for the cube but I don’t know how to set it up in cura, because it’s not on the list.
could you explain how you do it please?

Hi.
If you print walls thicker then 2,2 mm and use the right Setting, the Printer will print solid walls. Use at least 6 outer walls.

Print 2! about 5/10 cm apart. thats about the only way!
Dear Matt.
You can add a print process, and start print start on 25mm.
set your old settings of process 1 on stop print 25mm
Change the Speed and settings in process 2, to fit your marvin head.
Can I ask you how you have been able to printing with simplify 3d ? on Cubex ??
normal he ask a cubex. file. need to now for my own cubex
