Hi, I’m running a CTC dual extruder from Makerbot, with Sailfish firmware. Suddenly its not responding when I change any of the extrusion speeds. For example, just to test I’ve set all extrusion speeds to 10mm/s, but the printer still fly’s around at what looks like default 90mm/s.
Any ideas what to do about this? The print speed being too fast seems to be leading to under extrusion, and is causing problems with bed adhesion.
Are you using Makerbot desktop to slice? I don’t use it, so this is secondhand information given to me by the authors of sailfish. Makerbot has been making their slicers more and more hostile to the clone printers. They have also a very good track record of not testing updates on legacy machines. My ultimate advice would be purchase s3d, it is the best slicer in my opinion. You can find makerware 2.4 in various Google group, and if you can’t you can pm me for a private download link. 2.4 was the last update for our printers. These printers are essentially playback machines and will ONLY do what they are told.
