I’m having this problem with the CTC FDM printer I bought from Amazon . On the menu of the 3D printer, I select build from SD card then “3D Print” and it says just says “exit menu” I’ve tried wh my FAT32 4GB card and a FAT 2GB card. I am exporting from Makerbot software using the Replicator X2 setting. On the screen it says Internal Release 001 Makerware version 7.4. Then it says CTC Twinmaker. The video shows the problem: ctc fdm printer sd card problem - YouTube
This is the 3D Printer: Amazon.co.uk

Did you ever figure out what was wrong. Mine is doing the same thing. Just received it on the 9th of October. Ive tried multiple SD card. Ive contacted CTC support. I’ll see if they respond.
I’m having the same problem but I actually got mine to say that it could not read the card that I inserted - instead of just giving me the option to exit once I chose 3D Print … very odd behavior … I have SD cards formatted and working in a FlashForge printer and it wont read in this one … I’m still scratching my head on this …

You need to start your filenames with 3d for them to show.

So yes. It is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen in a while. I’ve had the same issue. J3dj3d nailed it. I had the file named “Adapter”… no dice. I renamed it “3d_ada”… still no dice. Finally I copied and kept it simple “3D ada”… boom! Done! So silly! But it worked. It finally recognized the file after 3 dsys of fighting with thing!! Thank you J3DJ3D.
I’ve heard that the SD card needs to be a lower storage level, 2GB or less. Is this true?

Hi TralanJr,
I don’t think it matters how the SD card is formatted you just need to make sure that the filename begins with 3d. Also quite often after I have either just started up the machine with the SD card in place or have just put the SD card in with the correct beginning to the filename nothing shows when you first time round go through the menu to the SD card. If you go through the menu to the SD card again it is quite often only then that the files show up (of course must start with 3d). Hope that helps.
