Hi, sorry for the long post, I have a CTC Bizer printer that has been a problem since day 1 but I would appreciate any help as the seller is being a pain and determind not to accept it back. The first day I got to do a small print to see what it was like, I was pleased. The next day I turned it on and there was just 2 lines of pixels on the display and it would not connect to the pc so Im guessing it was more than a display problem. The seller said to disconnect the display and plug it back in, this I did, the connectors would only go in 1 way so I couldnt really get it wrong. I turned the printer on and there was an almighty bang from underneath and a burning smell, this was traced to the psu, I messaged the seller again who requested pics of the burnt part and said not to worry as he would send any bits I need, bearing in mind here I am not an electrician. I never heard anything else but I have told him I want to return it as I am not happy at all. It has now being withdrawn from ebay due to numerous problems looking at his feedback this last week. Ebay will not step in and help for a week so I bought a psu off amazon, now this is where I am confused, the black wire was in the live and the red in earth so my son wired it how he thought it should be by tracing the wires to the switch, also he has a i3 prusa so he wired it like that one was. after turning it on it was back to the original problem, just 2 lines on the display so I thought i would try again to see if the pc would connect to it in case it was just the display but I got a shock from the usb lead so I unplugged the whole thing!! I didnt want to give up on it so does anyone have any ideas? I have a feeling I will have a fight on with the seller. Shall I buy a new board?
After the power supply fail I would not do any more or spend any more. File a complaint. If you used Paypal file with them also.
Just return it. You don’t know what other damage has been done by the power supply or if it will be same to use.

Thanks, I have asked for a return label but the seller is being awkward and says seems I’m not willing to change the mainboard he will only give me a part refund as compensation, then has the cheek to ask if that is ok!!! After a very stern email he has agreed to refund once he receives it back. I guess I will have to chance it.
Yup, I would demand a full refund or replacement. Power supply goes out with a “bang” on a new one no way you want to mess with a fire hazard!
The main thing is there is no real way to know what caused the power failure (without a lot of testing) and without changing everything there is still a risk!
Best of luck on it.
