Hi, I am new to 3D printing so apologies if this is an obvious or well known issue. I printed a dozen simple cookie cutters last night only to wake and find that 90% of them were slumped. Could this be because I didn’t remove them as soon as they had finished printing and the bed hasn’t cooled down so they continued to be hot and therefore loose shape.
Thanks in advance for advice.
Having the print bed still heating after finished printing might be the cause of the slump, as you have mentioned that. What’s the material, temperature settings (hot end, print bed)? Any Photos? Length of print? Is always best to turn off all heaters when the print finishes. There should be a setting in the slicer which turns off the heaters so that things cool down when complete.
Yes, you need to let your 3D printed object cool down first, before taking them out. I think this is the major trouble that causes the slumping troubles.
Anyways, if you still do not get results, kindly upload photos of videos of the process that takes place.
Not sure what you mean by slumped. Do you have a picture? Perhaps some didn’t stick to the bed and pulled a bit during printing. Since you’re printing cookie cutters I’m assuming they had thin walls and perhaps using a brim in the slicer will help.
