Hey guys, I wanted to get a few hundred iPhone stands printed out as a promotion, but from looking at this site, it seems like this could cost $5 each? I could buy them for like $2-3 bucks online. I was hoping to get these cheaper by doing it myself. I was getting the.stl file from this link: Folding iPhone 6 stand by SteveCaplin - Thingiverse 5 Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks, Dave
If what you want is already mass produced by injection moulding they would likely be far cheaper than printed versions. If you wanted something customised with graphics/text etc. then for a few hundred pieces printing is probably more economical. Rob.
Unfortunately my hub is in the UK meaning it would cost too much to ship these over to you at Minneapolis. I could have done this order for the equivalent of a dollar or two, but it’s way too far. I apologise.
I would recommend Asuder’s hub as Phoenix is much close to you so you could probably get a decent deal. His profile is pretty sound.
If you plan on having them all identical with no modifications for features, then you would be better off finding a company that could do injection moulding as Rob suggested.
How many units were you looking to have printed? As a rough estimate I could do this for $2 a piece. Just contact me on my hub for a more detailed estimate. Thanks, -Andrew
Hello Dave, This looks pretty straightforward, shoot me a message with your timeline and ideal quantity and I’ll get you a custom quote. BTW, I’m here in Minneapolis so if you want to stop by and play with a sample print of this iPhone stand let me know. Sam
Hey Dave, I could do this for $1.50 per stand. I am located right in St.Paul for easy pick up. I’ve got a wide range of colors to choose from as well. Let me know if you are interested.
I have looked into it and I could produce these for you at the price of $1 per unit. This considers the shipping and the material. Unfortunately the delivery could take up to 5-7 days, but it is far cheaper than you anticipated. If you are interested please let me know and I would be delighted to help you out.
As I’ve stated below I could do these for a little as $1 per unit, but I would be able to lower this price if your order is over a couple of hundred. I would be delighted to help you out, so if you have any queries don’t hesitate to ask.
Hi David, I see you have found quite a few answers.
If you have yet to find someone to print your orders, I would be willing to help you.
I can print with qualities as fine as 60 microns (0.06mm), and can get you the prints within 7 days per 100 prints. My quality control is very good, and as you can see my customers have been very happy with their products. I supply tracking codes and updates on an event basis. I would supply free shipping, of course, with a large order.
I would be willing to supply you prints as low a $1 per print for the first 100, less for the following prints. $10 for setup, since the process will take me quite a bit of work. The entire process will be handled outside of 3DHubs so the price can be kept down, and contact can be kept easily.
E-mail me at genexprints@gmail.com with any questions and a formal quote, or text at 218-255-2627. I will send a free quality control sample if you like.
i have a large printer{ 1m x 1m x .5m } where i would be able to print 100+ in one go if you would like to send me and appraisal i bet i could get the price per unit way down
Hi Dast, I’ve got a couple questions to ask. If you or someone else were to print the stands for you, what amount of infill would you be wanting? For the most part, the cheapest you can get filament of decent quality for is about 3 cents a gram. For the most part, this makes the range of cost for a phone stand between 30 cents and 80 cents a piece, excluding labour costs and printer upkeep. Depending on what exactly you mean by ‘promotion’, if they are needed for one location specifically then finding a good hub nearby may be the best bet. If you need them in different locations or say countries then you could possibly try reaching out to multiple hubs. Hope this helps! ~Parker
For the record, I’m not coming to you as a means to get further business, but rather purely for advise. All be it though I wouldn’t be totally apposed to it, I’m sure you could find someone local and avoid one of the biggest costs of shipping. As well it could be possible for you to possibly meet up with the owner of the hub you choose to go with, and get a look at the product before it goes into full fledged manufacturing
Looking further into the unit you wish to print, the cost shouldn’t be high at all. It is a very simple print, plastic should cost about 20-45 cents per unit. As well, I would like to bring attention to the fact that you wouldn’t be needing a hugely big resolution for this print, as it is fairly simple as is. None of the details really need a fine resolution. .1 or even .2 mm should do you just fine, and cut down on printing costs a lot.
