Hello!
I am using: “Monoprice Maker Select Pro Ultimate 3D Printer”
I use this at my place of work and we are trying to get it to work properly. This is the second identical 3D printer the previous one just died… stopped working altogether.
I have made several tests with several different settings, all the prints come out with varying differences of the same issue. Using PLA
Issues: (see photos)
-
on each print I get a blobbing or zebra striping only on the back side and left side of the print. - Opposite but consistently, The Brim gets chewed up or does not stick on the front and right side.
-
I also get webbing occurring from right to left.
Solutions i’ve implemented:
Before each test/print - I have calibrated the bed each time.
I have tried several different print temperature and bed temperature settings
BED: between 45° - 65°
PRINT TEMP: between 195° - 220°
Fan Speed - 100%
To try and fix the brim, I tried changing
Layer Height, Line Width, Layer Speed - the problems remained
To fix the webbing issue I read on forums that it is an retraction issue.
I changes Retraction Travel Speed and Distance
Retraction Travel Speed - 1mm - 50mm
Retraction Distance - 4mm - 10mm
I tried printing on glass and using painters tape.
Making all these changes and printing produced very little results
Recently I chatted with someone at monoprice online and He gave me settings to use for PLA and… same problems happened.
Settings suggested:
MATERIAL - PLA
BED TEMP: 45°
PRINT TEMP: 210°
RETRACTION TRAVEL SPEED: 40mm
RETRACTION DISTANCE: 4.5 mm/s
-problems remained after print-
Take a look at the photos - and please help where you can.
