Hi!

Firstly, I wanted to mention we are Zortrax resellers. As we all know, using no branded Zortrax filaments, you printer warranty will expire. Said this and due to the new Zortrax packaging (NO vacumm film) we have been testing others filaments.

We discovered this filaments: SMARTFIL ABS

They have a wide range of colours, large wide of spools weight (300g, 750g, 1kg,… up to 5kg spools!)

As all of you were waiting, here a sample of printing on Zortrax M200. It’s the “Royal crown” published in Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:80709 9 - scaled to 85% with X: 199.2mm, Y: 194.2mm, Z: 153.9mm

It has a 0.19mm layer thickness, speed HIGH, infill LIGHT, support lite 20º.

As you can see, there are no warpping and cracking effects even using a high pigmented filament like gold colour.

Of course, once tested them and their quality, we started to sell them in our store:

Interesting (and cheaper). Do you need to change the extruder temperature or the settings for zABS work well?

Actual i’m using only real ABS from reprapworld.
And i love that, it cost 18 €/1 kg and work exactly the same than ZABS.

Hello,

Have you tested their PLA filament on your Zortrax M200 ?

Thanks.

Hi,

No, we would not recommend to use PLA filaments with Zortrax due to its hotend configuration, it’ll make it stuck very quick. Only ABS.

Not tried petg or hips yet but it seems it would work adjusting z-profiles at z-suit
