Looking for a cheap hotend and feeder combo or pair. Is for a very cheap salvage build for fun. PLA/ABS. Also preferably as light of a head end as possible. (If the stepper can be located a few inches away, its weight stops mattering. But if its a combo light=good for this build)

So you want a Bowden extruder preferentially over a direct and cheap too? Get an E3D V6 clone and look for printable extruder mounts on thingiverse. There’s a lot of personal choice involved, I ended up designing and uploading my own.
