I am new to 3d printing and have just ordered an Anet A8. It is currently on a slow boat from China. :frowning: I am planning on using it in my shop where I create a lot of dust. Therefore I’m thinking of putting it inside of a large sealed cabinet with a large pane of plexiglass in the door.

Are there any problems or reasons this would be a bad idea?

Thanks,

Lance

Make sure you have it ventilated otherwise it can get to hot in the enclosure and mabey bend the acrilic frame! You can just put a dustcover i. Front of the ventilation holes

Looks nice. Just out of curiosity, what are the dimensions of your enclosure?

Judging by the size of the container ventalatin wouldnt be needed as the TG of most acrylic is from 85°C-165°C and I wouldn’t expect the container to get even close to this hot. In fact the passive heating will most likely lead to better quality ABS prints with less warping. If you are concerned about this issue I suggest that you put a thermometer in the enclosure next to the frame and see how hot it gets I don’t imagine that it would get very warm at all
