Hello, first post here. Been getting into the 3D print hobby and getting a little frustrated. I like to draw using Sketch up and then export this file as a 3d obect. I use Cocoon to import and then export this to my sd card and then print using a Cocoon Creat from Aldi.
Small objects are fine. but when i print larger flat objects i get bumps and i think its called pillowing. I have noticed though (Through constant (and hypnotic) viewing that the infill is not flat, kind of pointy corners like the filament peaks. this is then carried onto the next layer and so on. Ending up with a bumpy top surface. Looks cool but i don’t want it.
The raft is perfectly flat with no issues. Temp settings see to be consistent at 200, I have lowered temp to 195 and increased to 210 using PLA 1.75. Cooling fan is on, Bed Temp 50 Fill set to .8 Fill Density 20% Layer height .1 Shel Thickness .5 not sure what other settings i should provide. !

If you are doing a 0.1 layer you may need to double the normal amount of top layers. Pillowing is usually infill that is too far apart, low % for the design, and or not enough top layers.

Thanks for that. I have tired a different filament as well. this seemed to improve the top layer also. I have played around with the top and bottom layers before and ended up having a hard model to remove from the raft. I will check the gcode expert setup and see if i can adjust the top layer only.

Cheers
