I’m Camille I’m part of the community team at 3D Hubs! This community is way too quiet for its own good :p, I think we should have a 3D printing Meetup in Bristol soon!
Who’s interested in organizing one with me in May or June?
Let’s see what dates work for everyone: http://doodle.com/75bucdy6a55nq4wv Please include your 3D Hubs id as your name for the poll and post your postcode on here if you’re comfortable doing so. I can then look for a suitable location. Please also say if you don’t have access to a car so I can plan for public transport access.
My friend holds her Mini Club meetings at the Bailey’s Court Inn in Stoke Gifford/Bradley Stoke pub in North Bristol. I don’t think they charge anything but it’s only a few tables in the main pub area on a Sunday night… Not necessarily suggesting that as a venue, (though coming from Herefordshire North Bristol would be nice!), but even centrally, a large food pub on a Sunday evening might be worth investigating… I guess having good public transport links would make sense.
I have been looking at those Fuel 3D Scanners they look pretty cool! I have got a Matter and Form that I used for the Gloucester Marketing Scrumpty project, and an Asus Xtion that I am just learning to use for full body scanning.
Let’s go firm on the 21st. I’ll get thinking about venue but happy with people adding to the existing mention. How about a 7pm start? I don’t mind changing and would welcome the views of those travelling farther than me.
I’m leaving from Ross shortly. We should stick with the original venue for the lurkers on here who might turn up, but could relocate if needed once we know who’s actually turned up! Mike
Guys, thanks for a great meetup! REALLY worth getting together in person. Thanks to Mike for showing us his full sized R2D2 work in progress - it’s massive for something that has been 3D printed! Good luck with your new artistic product development Jason - here’s to the power of rapid prototyping!
Yep, seconded! Thanks for a great evening! Really good to meet Simon and Jason and get loads of insight, inspiration and perspective as well as a good understanding of where folks are heading and what that are looking for out of this fascinating field! Hopefully more peeps can make it next time too! August sounds great, especially the later part! Mike
Hi Simon, I’m still here - not gone away yet - it’'s very slow work wise at the moment. Waiting on a posting at any time! Up for a meet until then though! Mike
