Let’s see what dates work for everyone: http://doodle.com/75bucdy6a55nq4wv Please include your 3D Hubs id as your name for the poll and post your postcode on here if you’re comfortable doing so. I can then look for a suitable location. Please also say if you don’t have access to a car so I can plan for public transport access.

Same here Steve, but in Ross-on-Wye.

What scanners will you be bringing? I’be done relatively little with my Fuel3D and my Sense I’m sure!

My friend holds her Mini Club meetings at the Bailey’s Court Inn in Stoke Gifford/Bradley Stoke pub in North Bristol. I don’t think they charge anything but it’s only a few tables in the main pub area on a Sunday night… Not necessarily suggesting that as a venue, (though coming from Herefordshire North Bristol would be nice!), but even centrally, a large food pub on a Sunday evening might be worth investigating… I guess having good public transport links would make sense.

Mike

Sounds good to me…

Only Sundays I can do in June is 14th or 21st.

Jason

Hi,

I have been looking at those Fuel 3D Scanners they look pretty cool! I have got a Matter and Form that I used for the Gloucester Marketing Scrumpty project, and an Asus Xtion that I am just learning to use for full body scanning.

Shall we say 14th in North Bristol area? Thinking top of A38 near the Hot Air Balloon roundabout but the date is the most important thing.

Hi,

I’m away until the 16th, but could make the 21st…

Any venue is fine for me…

Mike

Let’s go firm on the 21st. I’ll get thinking about venue but happy with people adding to the existing mention. How about a 7pm start? I don’t mind changing and would welcome the views of those travelling farther than me.

21st @ 7pm sounds great to me! Hot Air Balloon - is that the one in Filton on the A38? Sounds fine! Mike

Nice! I’ll create an event page on 3D Hubs to notify the whole Bristol community

Hello all,

Just want to double check if the venue has been confirmed ok? and what facilities are available there? i.e power points, large desk area for setting up kit. close parking etc?

Hi all, still tryng to see if the venue is actually confirmed??? as i am coming a fair way i want to be sure.

Thanks

Steve

Not heard anything either, but I suspect that nothing has been booked with the venue - we just turn up and take one or more of the available tables in the pub. I would be surprised if the Air Balloon know anything about us or have reserved a room or anything… Mike

There’s parking nearby but they say they’re very busy tonight - can’t imagine anywhere else is going to be better in fathers day but happy to change to the Baileys Court Inn if that’s going to be a better choice.

I’m leaving from Ross shortly. We should stick with the original venue for the lurkers on here who might turn up, but could relocate if needed once we know who’s actually turned up! Mike

Inn on the Green looks promising. Just popped in on my way and seems quiet.

Nice one! Sounds good. At the Balloon now - there are spaces in the car park here but not been inside yet!

Guys, thanks for a great meetup! REALLY worth getting together in person. Thanks to Mike for showing us his full sized R2D2 work in progress - it’s massive for something that has been 3D printed! Good luck with your new artistic product development Jason - here’s to the power of rapid prototyping!

Let’s have another one in August.

Yep, seconded! Thanks for a great evening! Really good to meet Simon and Jason and get loads of insight, inspiration and perspective as well as a good understanding of where folks are heading and what that are looking for out of this fascinating field! Hopefully more peeps can make it next time too! August sounds great, especially the later part! Mike

Good night. Its was nice to meet you both.

Thanks for the helpful tips and tricks to improve my prints… Going to try Acetone welding along with amending my host settings.

Impressed with your R2D2 Mike, if you want any help creating CAD files let me know.

Looking forward to the next meetup.

Hi! At the last meeting we talked about doing another meet up in August, so hopefully that will happen! Mike

Hi Simon, I’m still here - not gone away yet - it’'s very slow work wise at the moment. Waiting on a posting at any time! Up for a meet until then though! Mike

I can only do the first Sunday in August.
