Hi all!
I am looking out for detailed 3d printing, not just normal color models, something detailed with elementwise materials including glass lookalike elements, similar to what we see in traditional physical scale models of architecture. Mostly the projects includes a lot of glass façade.
Can you kindly tell me with which makers will be the best?
And is there any chance to get to see a demo in Dubai, or send us a sample model(architectural) before taking a decision? Any Dubai meetups happening?

Hi! I am an interior designer in Costa Rica with plenty of experience on the making of architectural models. I used to make them by hand and now with 3d printing the possibilities are endless. Unfortunately I am quite far from Dubai but my advice is that having the 3d printed parts assembled and finished by a skilled craftsperson is best. 3D print can deliver pieces in otherwise impossible shapes and strength while nice sharp color or crystal clear materials still requiere other techniques.
You probably want to print in color, then use thick acetate in different colors to create the glass elements. we typically hand cut the acetate but sometimes there are lots of identical surfaces, and we use the plotter to cut those and stick them on the printed model with tape. the power printer can mimic typical textures like brick /concrete / metal beams quite well, so printing a base model in powder and adding shiny surfaces works pretty well.
Hey! I’ve started a Facebook group for 3D Printers across the UAE, “UAE 3D Printers” would be great to get more members onboard and start talking print and printers!
It is not a commercial space for 3D Prints, rather a group to bring us UAE printers together!
