So I have a Qidi Tech I (Flashforge Creator Pro) and I print usually with the bed around 40C. A lot of the time it shows up to 60C during the print though. But I notice that it is sort of erratic, it will skip around between 45-55 quickly.
This isn’t really ever a big deal until I noticed today, I stopped a print, and went to restart it again. However my printer thought my bed was like like 55C or so, and wasn’t letting it cool down. It didn’t seem to want to start heating my extruder until that cooled down though and I ended up having to shut down for 15 minutes to let it cool manually.
Is is more likely I have something regulating temperature weird or that maybe it’s just a bad sensor? Or maybe something else.
First thing I would do is contact QIDI and send a video of the temp fluctuations.
The most common reasons are loose wires at the main board or the bed heater. Check all connections on the main board.
I had a similar issue with mine after a few years and it turned out to be the main board going bad. Unusual but I replaced it and it is fine now. If QIDI doesn’t replace parts for you due to warranty you can find most of what you need on eBay by searching QIDI. Some of the parts are on Amazon now also.
Was it much of a hassle to replace the motherboard? That’s what they’re suggesting. They are having me take off the cord then test heating the bed up . I’m going to give it a try once it’s done with the current job.
Not that big of a deal. Take a bunch of pictures of how everything is attached to be sure to get it back the correct way. Especially the orientation of plugs so wire colors are back the same way they were.
Thanks! Yeah they are going to be sending me a new motherboard. Sucks but not a huge deal hopefully.
