I noticed a hunk of plastic on the table where I print. Not unusual around a 3d printer right? But this was my left rear side leg on my FF Creator Pro. It just crumbled apart!! What the heck. I have only had the thing a little over 3 months. Have not even moved it from where its at since I bought the thing. Anyone else have this happen? I then check the rest of the legs out and the right rear is cracked and soon to fall apart as well. What the heck.
If yours happens to crumble apart you will notice that the very bottom where its bumpy is rubber connected to plastic. It all busted apart. I’ll have to get a picture.
I just bought it this Aug. The rubber feet are connected to plastic and the plastic broke apart and the rubber and plastic just fell out. I’ll try and get some pics but I can’t lift the printer for a few hours as it is printing right now. I can show the broken pieces. I did not do this. It has sat in the same spot since I unboxed the thing.
Here are the photos. 1st photo, the broke apart side. 2nd photo, piece that were just laying there. 3rd photo, other back side about ready to give way, cracking in the exact same spot.
Yeah, looks like shipping damage to me; I can’t lift mine right now, but from what I can see all my corners are solid with no signs of any cracks, etc. The part with the crack on it in your photos is metal on mine, so it must have taken one heck of a knock…
Now I’m confused - the “frame” of the printer on mine is definitely all metal - magnets stick to it, certainly the part that appears cracked in the third photo is metal for me…
However, there’s no mention in the description of the metal frame being different, only that it’s different from the old wooden frame. I’ll admit, I’m still not sure which bits you’re seeing as plastic; I’ll take a photo and identify which bits are metal on mine…
The two side panels and the front and back exterior panels are plastic attached to the metal frame. I knew my side panels were plastic but thought the front and back were metal until I checked. They are plastic also that bolt to the frame.
