Hello all,
Im brand new to these forums, so please take it easy on me. That said, Im also at my witts end, frustration as a word so underwhelmingly describes my mood at this point. I am a software engineer and technolgy director and I dont think I have ever been so frustrated and feeling like Im getting no where.
So I just bought the AnyCubic I3, which is the upgraded model supposedly. Printer was easy to put together and I have had no problems with its navigations or mechanical functionality (regarding movement) other than I am yet to make it more than 5 minutes without something going wrong. I have watched countless vids, done everything that Anycubic has prescribed in their training videos, read general documentation all with no success. First, logically I just wanted the Owl print to work, because that came with the printer and I assume Anycubic has tested the file successfully with this printer and its configuration and that if I can get the Owls to print, I should be able to then try something else or at least have something to tinker with from that point.
Sadly, about 5 minutes into the Owl print it just stops heating the extruder and bed, I hear the motors make a quick jolt and then look down at the display to see that the temps have set themselves to 0 and cooling has begun, despite the printer continuing to try and print (motors are still going on all axis). I have leveled the bed the best this factory bed can be leveled, using every trick I could find. I even took a caliper and feeler guage to it, its not absolute but maybe tenths of millimeters at the extrem ends of the base. I decided to try an new under carriage plate that holds the base and heating element, as I watched another video stating the factory one was garbage - so I ordered one thats suppose to be guranteed flat and much more rigid than the factory from a company called Global Robotics. I have also had to order two new extruder kits alread because the PLA keeps clogging. Just mountains of let down everywhere I turn, frustrations have hit an exponential level and now I’m seeking help.
I have also sent AnyCubic a support email describing all this. Waiting on their response as well. I just feel that for a production machine, this shouldnt be happening, I mean its completely failing to function. Finally, I thought maybe this Owl G code is flawed, so I went to Thingiverse and grabbed the MOST BASIC model files I could find, literal cubes, a fan shroud, calibration pads and nothing worked, in fact they didnt even get started - it was like the motor speeds on all of them were twice what the extruder was putting out, it was just dragging PLA all over, again everything I tried failed.
Im at a loss… can someone give me some advice besides send it back, that Im already on the verge of doing.
Thanks
Bryan
