I’m relatively new to the 3D Printing world. I have printed a few different things when I first got my printer back in January of this year. I have not been able to print anything for months because there is an issue with the nozzle cooling down mid print. I’ll preheat the printer and bed and then select my file when its ready, and it will start the print as usual but then randomly throughout the print the nozzle and bed starts cooling down and the print is still going, so the head is still making the movements but its not hot enough to print anything. I’m not sure how to fix it. Any suggestions?
Hi Josh!
A few questions to narrow down the issue here…
Is the temperature shown on the LCD screen still high (for example 200c for the hotend and 60c for the bed), or does it show the correct values as the temperature drops?
No, Both hotend and bed reset to 0c
Hm, so they both reset to zero but the print continues…
Have you tried the default gcode files that came with the printer again, to see if it happens with those as well?
it happened with those when I first started printing
and it happens with gcode you’ve sliced yourself as well? I’m thinking it might be a corrupt gcode file
Yes i’ve tried to watch the prints and stop and reheat its worked once or twice but usually the print shifts and i have to scrap the whole print

You should check your gcodes. You are looking for “M104 S0”(set extruder to 0) or “M140 S0”(set bed to 0) in the middle of the file. You should only find them at the end of file. If you do find them, remove them.
