My ANet A8 was working fine and I printed up some parts for it and then replaced the bed wing nuts with printed wheels. After calibrating the level, i have tried to run a print and it just doesn’t flow evenly and so the prints are really patchy. I thought it was the bed, but i have checked the levels and they are the same as originally calibrated. Extruder is at 200 Celsius and the bed at 67. I also checked the flow and it comes out evenly and easily. Something’s up and any assistance would be really appreciated.

If you are sure that that the bed is properly leveled, I would look at the possibility of the nozzle being clogged. I have had similar problems and cleaning are replacing the nozzle got me printing great again.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response Verlhum. I do preheat the extruder and push the filament through and it extrudes it then. It’s only when I start to print that it doesn’t seem to be feeding out properly. Can cleaning it make a difference in this case?
I’ll clean it out first and then get back to the thread.
Thanks again.

You say the plastic comes through if you push it through, have you tried moving the Z axis up, heating the nozzle, then using the firmare to tell the extruder to extrude? When the filament comes out use a caliber and check it should be 0.4mm then rotate it 90 degrees and check it again…
I used to have this problem as well. Might need to calibrate your extruder. I am using marlin firmware so i adjust it the steps/mm for the extruder . You can search alot of methods from youtube.
Hope it helps
