So I’ve recently bought an Anet A8 3D printer but when I go to do my first print it doesn’t extrude. All the other motors work but not this so I swapped the extruder motor with a new be but it still won’t print. I’m pretty sure it’s not a gcode thing or a problem with the wiring.

You mean the extruder motor does not turn when you trying to print from the SD card, right? Did you installed the motor or cable when the power was still on? Motor driver chips on the board are very sensitive. They burnt if you tried to remove or install cables while the power still on.
I installed them before it was ever powered on and yes it doesn’t spin at all.
