Hello, I was trying to set up auto levelling on my Anet a8 with this sensor Lj18A3-8-Z/Bx. I used two 15k ohm resistors to step down the voltage output. I should theoretically get 6v output but it’s around 4.5 - 4.6v. If a metal object is detected I get 0v, as it should be. But when I send the M119 command I always get “open” on the z axis, ehither if the sensor is detecting something or not. Is 4.5v not enought voltage?? Thank you
Hi!
Can you post a picture how you wired the resistor and the sensor? And also send a picture of the connector on the Anet Board? Pay attention to the connector, you must connect the outside pins, not the middle one, also pay attention which one you used as ground.
Have you checked the settings in your firmware?
A change in the firmware is only needed to setup the auto level feature, but first the sensor must react like the switch and trigger if it has detected something. Which is not happening at the moment. It is always set to “open”, no matter if there was something detected or not.
As soon as the sensor is working like the switch, the configuration for the auto leveling can be done.
