Alternative for when shipping is only free in the USA

Hi everyone!

I you’re like me and get frustrated when sites have free shipping to the USA but outrageous fees for shipping to us in Montreal, I’ve found a great alternative. This company called Kinek has drop-off points right at the US border that you can ship to. The account is free and they charge a small fee per item shipped. I just ordered a printer (26lbs) and the fee is only $10 US.

Since the border is really not that far (~1hr), it’s well worth it. It would have cost over $80 US to ship to Mtl.

Note that you’ll need a passport since you are crossing the border even if it’s just a half a km and you’ll need to declare it and pay taxes and duties which you would have to anyway even if you had shipped it directly to Montreal.
