I have two Printerbot Simple Metal printers and a QIDI dual extruder on order. I know that none of these have a WiFi capability but wonder if I couldn’t use a small microcontroller like an Arduino or Rasberry PI to create a bridge. Has anyone tried this? If not, I intend to try to create one. If I am successful is there anyone that would be interested in how I do this?

You can set up a pi with octoprint or astroprint to remotely print.
Or, you can get a flashair SD card, and use that wirelessly to slice on your computer, post to the SD card via wifi, and print from the printer.
Even with wifi, never print unattended.
