Hi Everyone my ABS won’t stick i normally don’t need any glue can anyone give me a go bed temp and extruder temp? thanks heaps my models just won’t stick

Hi there,

I think it’s good to mention what printer and ABS you are using because it really depends on those types. I prefer to use masking tape or glue to let it stick. You could also try using BuildTak, I use that for my non heated bed printers but I read on their website that it’s also suitable for heated bed printers.

Cheers,

Dominic

oh soz I got a xyx da vinci 1.0a with xyz filament it say 210c with a 90c bed but it just wont stick :frowning:

Plain glass or are putting something on it? Hairspray, kaptopn, pei, build whatever special spray/material? (Usually hairspray rebranded or textured polycarbonate)

I print a lot of ABS. You must use glue. Before every print, use a damp cloth to clean the glass surface. Then dry it properly. Apply glue stick where the object will be printed as well as the test strip.

Without glue, your part will come loose during printing and you will have a big blob of plastic that gets attached to he extruder.

i have been using Elmers glue and it has been working alot better, is hairspray better than gluesticks how long does before it loses its stick? 5mins?

Elmers glue stick works well. Don’t bother with hairspray for ABS.
