Hi

I’m a new a8 owner and having a problem reading SD cards. I have no trouble reading the original card that came with the printer, in fact I can load new gcode files on the original card and print them with no problem.

The card I want to use is a 4GB Trancend micro SDHC card formatted with FAT32. The original card that came with the printer is a no name 8GB micro SDHC card formatted with FAT32. In other words, identical but only half the size.

I have tried dismounting the original card and mounting the new card … no luck. I have tried resetting the machine with the new card plugged in … no luck. I have tried unplugging, waiting 5 minutes and restarting with the new card in the MB … no luck.

I know this is an old problem, but has anyone solved it yet ??

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

I’m using an old kingston 2Gb micro sd, it is formatted FAT and it works

My Makerbot Replicator 2 has the same limitation of 2GB max, SDHC is fine, it is the size of the card. I found some microSD 2GB cards and have been using these just to have spares. The original one has the covers starting to come apart and is temperamental when inserting the card.
