A powerful tool released for viewing 3d models on the mobile

SVS Innovations has released ViewUp, a new app that allows users to view 3D models on iOS and Android devices. It is available for download as of today from Apple’s App Store and Google Play. The app and all its features are free for the first two months.

ViewUp is packed with many useful features. It lets users to, for example, clip and hide elements, search for objects, ”walk” inside a model and take measurements. Both metric and Imperial / US units are supported. The app can view .skp, .dae, .stl, .3ds, .kmz and .obj 3D model formats.

ViewUp is targeted especially for makers, designers and architects who work with 3D modeling frequently and are often on the move. The app provides these professionals a convenient way for giving their clients an interactive tour of a design. With ViewUp, it is possible to carry dynamic models everywhere you go – in your pocket. Once you have the model on your device, no network connection is required. ViewUp works smoothly even with large and complicated models making it the most powerful mobile viewer in its category.

When is 3D hubs coming out with an app that allows you to check orders, and view the 3d model on your smart devices?

Hey Niels, an app for Hubs is a great idea and is definitely on our road map, not on the short or medium term though. At the moment, we’re working on improving the responsive version of the website, among other really cool things. But we’ll definitely keep you posted on any updates on this front. Cheers
