I hope some one out there can help me, I’m putting together a

A8 Desktop 3D Printer Prusa i3 DIY Kit

And I have a problem with a the guide rod on the Y axis on the left side not lining up with the hole in the bottom plate on

I believe the white baring housing servo motor housing is not in specifications, this how it sets with the top plate removed. It is a good ¼” off. (see attached picture) any body know were I mite get a replacement for this kit, I did contact the seller, and they informed my to tare it apart and send it back to them in China !

Any help would be appreciated !

Sorry, cannot help you finding a new piece, but, have you thought create one with some cad soft and print.

are the x-axis (horizontal) rods pushed all the way into the housing(white bearing housing)?

Yes the rods are bushed all the way though the bearing housing (see pic ?)

Or do I have your question mixed up, the rod is thought the bearing and sitting on the bottom plate and not aligning with the hole in the plate. I think the bearing housing is made with an angle in it (bad part ?) I could be wrong ?

Thank you for any help with this problem !

Hi

This might sound a bit goofy, BUT

When I’m assembling things like this, I always leave the fastening bolts loose until all parts are in place.

Looking at your photo, It’s quite possible that your horizontal axis is not square.

Leaving all connections somewhat loose while building, then squaring up things as you tighten them usually ends up giving good results.

Just my 2 cents worth!
