Hello everyone What’s everyone’s thoughts on the wood filament 3d systems made for the CubePro. Is it realy worth buying filament for 109 dollars plus! You have to buy there extruder to even print with the filament for 100 dollars. Way over priced for the extruder and the filament. http://www.3dsystems.com/shop/cartridges/wood Cheers Jake
You need to be careful when buying wood filament. I have had some that worked REALLY well and created an awesome effect. But I also bought some wood filament that was so fragile it broke every time the extruder pulled on it. In the end I had to sit there for the 3 hour print and feed it to make sure it didn’t snap off and disappear into the extruder. If a wooden effect is what you need, Definitely worth it.
io ho una project 360 che stampa in gesso .

No not worth it,for 200 dollar you can get a 3d printer with more option in printable Filament for 50% of the costs
If thickness is standard you should consider using these: Timberfill | Fillamentum
I am owner of a Cube Pro TRIO, it is the fourth time in three months the printer had to be sent back to the repair shop for heavy problems with spools and clogged extruders. Maybe it is just a mine problem but I will not recommend to spend all that money and time for wood printing, there are plenty of alternatives around, maybe it is a good idea to buy a small printer only to be used with this kind of filament(s).

Cube 3 gen was my first 3d printer… To learn and understand the very basics of 3d printing, ok! but when you see you know a lot more, you have to buy some that has open source with open filaments. Just to see, here in Brazil, I have to pay more over yours $49, getting prices multiplied by 8 and more. So I bought another one and I´m selling this to buy another with the money… not worth it really!
Sounds like a good idea. Thanks
