Hi I have a need to replicate some small parts for a roof blind system that no longer supplies spare parts for, would it be possible to recreate these if I sent the original parts and have some made up from that? Would it be affordable? see attached image - there is a left and right version, its a pretty low res image - sorry, but I can supply more if its a worthwhile process

Hi, the picture is indeed really blurry but i’m sure it should be possible to replicate the part. As it’s a technical part i’m also sure it makes more sense to remodel the geometry in a 3d modeling program as it’s faster and usually more precise than 3d scanning. Not sure how many of these you’ll need but if you don’t need hundreds 3d-printing seems a good solution.
Feel free to contact me if you have more questions (and probably a tad less blurry picture to start with and i would love to help you with modeling and printing. For printing you could of course also look for a more local 3dhub (i’m based in Switzerland) where you can pick-up your parts right away but i do also worldwide shipping if you don’t mind to wait a few days.

Hi Nick
I could also copy them, either by re-drawing in 3D cad and then printing or making a silicone mould from your original and casting them in PU. If you could send clearer pictures and some dimensions, I could give you an idea of cost.
Best regards
Adam

I would say that a scan not worth time for the result you will get. It looks small enough to CAD in about 30-60 minutes.
I can draw your part for $23.
Print setup $5
Guessing on the size, each print/part will be less than $1 excluding setup fees.
Hello!
As a rough quote, I could cad this for $5, and print for less than $0.50 each! Feel free to contact me via my hub.
