I’m looking to print a water bottle and then add some electrical components. What material is the safest for drinking water from (obviously no BPA) and most durable for such a print job?

You’ll probably want to look for FDA certified food safe PLA or similar material.

Mattergeeks offers this, based on a quick google search

I wouldnt recommend a 3D printed material for a water bottle, you’d be better off making a mold and then getting it cast in a foodsafe material

3d printing help people save time for design and save cost. plastic not safe for use directly except food 3d printing. but the strength of food printing cant match your requirement  try FDM machine for molding !

Agree, you can definitely print an FDM master part and then make a mold from it.

I’ve had success printing in the desired material for mechanical structure and then coating in a food safe epoxy/ clear coat like this: http://www.amazon.com/Alumilite-Amazing-Clear-Cast-16/dp/B00CVYNQ4U

Its certified food safe. No word on dishwasher safe though.
