I have a CTC I3 pro B printer, it runs fine off a PC/laptop, but doesn’t read G-code off an SD. I’ve tried different formats, SD’s, cutting software (I currently use Mattercontrol), but none seem to be able to be read. This is my first printer and I’m only just learning the basics of 3D printing.
I don’t know how to access the firmware, so I wouldn’t know whether it was or not. As I said, I’m only new to 3D printing so I might be making some beginners mistakes.
I have had the same problem with my recently purchased “2017 UPGRADED DIY CTC I3 Prusa Ebay Clone”.
Had all sorts of suggestions but the only thing that worked for me was,
I loaded a 3d object file (.stl file) in Cura 15.04
It then sliced it for me.
Then I saved it for SD Card Print to my SD Card, but I found that I had to save it to a Micro SD card inserted into an SD card adapter (ordinary SD cards would not work)
sorry it did not work for you, mine has been working great till yesterday when it would print part of the model, then stop.
I thought there may me a problem with overheating, but after trying it connected by usb cable (it worked fine).
So I checked the micro sd card and windows said it had errors.
I reformatted it (SanDisc 4GB as Fat 32) then loaded my model into Cura 15.04 and then went to File, save GCode, and picked my Micro SD card to save it to, and it is again working fine.
Possibly it might be worth trying another Micro SD card?
