Hi there, I have looked around but can’t find a specific answer. What kind of lights are best (safe) to use with 3D printed lamp shades. I am printing with PLA specifically so it will be a lower melt temp. I am guessing LED, but can anyone throw any specific suggestions/links my way for lighting bases, etc, or other criteria that may be helpful? Thanks!

Hi @Jarrett_Trezzo, I made a Luxo Jr. (Pixar) . I printed it in ABS, but PLA would have been fine because I used an LED globe. I used a GU10 LED light fitting (mini spotlight). At the hardware store the only fittings they had suitable for lamps were standard bayonet fittings (B22) - so I wired up the lamp with that and I got a B22 to GU10 adapter from eBay. There are many Luxo Jr designs on thingiverse.com .

i think your going to need to get a couple different lights and leave them on for a few hours then measure temps. Then anything thats not hot enough to melt the PLA should be good…
