One of my 3D Design students created an incredible wearable vest that we had printed at Shapeways. Unfortunately, Shapeways said the tubes are too thick and the SLA material used to print it makes the vest not flexible enough to open up and put on a person, even though we told this is what we wanted to do with the printed piece. I have reached out to Shapeways and have been told that this is a design problem and to reach out on forums to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to thin out the tubes and make it more flexible, or how to cut it in half so that we can put it on the model. Any suggestions would be greatly apprciated. I have upoaded a picture of the miniature and the .stl of the large scale piece. Thank you.
