I’ve printed about 25 Fairphone cases so far. Most of them for customers, but also some to experiment with the settings of the printer.

The major problem I encountered so far is that customers have problems fitting the phone into the case. On it’s own, that is really a minor issue that can easily bo solved with some sanding. However, customers don’t expect that and so we should find a solution.

It would be great if we (case-printers) would have a model of the Fairphone to try out the case before we deliver it to customers. Getting a cheap, broken one, from eBay apparently is not an option yet.

So, I was wondering whether perhaps anybody would consider designing a 3D model of the phone. If I had the skills, I would do it myself. But I don’t.

I like the idea think it would be really cool, maybe someone in the community could model it as my skills are also less than good. @ProdPoint

Great idea Nils!

Hi,

Thanks for the link. I had a look at it and it certainly is a good starting point, but personally I can’t translate this into a 3D model. Lack of skills. I hope somebody will pick up this information.
