Hi,

I would like to wire two switches to my printer.

One on the power supply with a socket.

Using this one: https://www.robotics.org.za/C14-SWITCH?search=switch

And another as a auto off switch at the top of the printer in the same way as this Anet A8 - Auto Shutdown by KoekMaker98 - Thingiverse

But for life of me I can’t figure out the wiring. Have been googling 3-way switching but it is all for lighting and it makes me confused.

Any help with the wiring would be great! thanks!

You don’t want a 3-way switch, not in this scenario. Wire it so BOTH switches need to be on for the printer to be on, then either printer can turn it off. Logically, this would be an AND function, not sure if that will help you find examples or not.

I don’t like the ‘auto off’ switch you showed, this puts mains voltages too close to the moving parts for my liking. When something fails, it might be bad.

A safer (but more complicated) approach would be a wireless switched socket, and use the Z-position switch to trigger this. Gives you the option of remote shutdown too.

Ok 1st off it’s not a 3way switch you want ( a 3way is used to control a light from 2 different locations your going to want single pole style switches. And they will be wire in series with each other so if you turn either one to off it’s breaking the hot wire. The white (or neutral) should be continuous (electrically) from wall socket to power supply the hot will come from the back side of the power/switch module you posted to the switch on that module to the other switch and then to the HOT connection point on power supply. Hope this helps let me know either way

A low voltage reply would be a safer way like he said mains on the frame is not best idea
