XYZ Ware received an update

Hi All

XYZ Ware received an update last night which I downloaded and installed, I haven’t been able to find release notes for it to get a better idea of what has been changed.

Anybody else get the update or have info on it?

Seems that they added a “splash screen” at startup which is an advertisement, then cancelling out of that starts the actual software. Also, on a laptop I routinely use for the DaVinci machines, it now pops up a message wanting 4G of ram instead of the 3G that is installed… yet the program appears to run fine so far. Have not seen any new features from the immediate past version, but

I have not looked at it very closely yet.

IMHO, I don’t update the software. With each iteration, one can expect more and more restrictions even if you get improved functionality. I haven’t updated since August or so.

I noticed that in the top right corner, there is an option to change what the printer does. So you can change it to scan or engrave stuff. Of course you need a compatible printer but I think its just that all the features of the different printers were brought into one program.

Version 2.1.5.9 was a hotfix for advertising. You can download the sheet about the version on their website.

I I would highly recommend using simpilify3D over xyzware. It costs money but it is well worth the investment. I recently bought it and I’m learning more and more. It was tricky at first because I was use to xyzware but as I do more and more builds its much easier to use than xyzware and has a tone more features.

You can now turn bed on of with a switch. So pla is now printable with no high temperature!

I also wanted to add that once I ditched xyzware and bought simplify 3d, my prints have come out better, faster, and I can print more materials. 100% worth it, don’t hesitate.

Agree - S3D is so much better. I would have thought by now xyzprinting’s apps might be much better but they just seem to get more problematic with each update…

Just log into Xyz site and get the release notes. I never use xyzware for printing but it does allow rotation and leveling files much easier than S3D so I do occasionally use it for file rotation still.

I don’t think I have heard my extruder click at all since this update, anyone else experiencing this?

Wow today I het anther update from XYZWare for pro. The slicing proccess goes a bit faster!
