Hi all!
Did some of you had real succes with the wire printing setting in Cura 15.06.03?
I did a first test and this was my result.

I spoke with someone who said although it uses less filament - it actually prints slower than if you printed it as a thin shell. But it looks cool and uses very little filament for large objects. It’s slow I guess because it has to pause for about 3 seconds at the top of each vertical line to let the filament cool.
Looks good! How long did it take to print it and what’s the size of the print?
In FDM 3D printing everything is usually slow. I find this print style really cool, and I’m going to try it soon, but I will use it in a project that involves post-processing and using other materials. In any case, 3D printing requires a lot of patience!
So cool! How does this work exactly?

Interesting. Is it possible to print hair one by one on a model’s head with this technic?
Wow! Good reason to update my Cura
Will give a try very soon!
Pretty cool for a first print i’ll have to try that

what setting did u use ? I tried to process the wire print, but the software always stuck half way. and there s no preview of the print
Just gave it a try with the default settings and a Marvin scaled to 5 cm. Only thing I changed was the flow. Screwed it up to 500% while it was printing.
The new Cura does not show a preview, but when you open the gcode you made in the older Cura, it will show exactly what it will do. This online gcodeviewer will also let you see what you will be printing.
Movie here.

If your model is crashing due to too many polygons (large file size) then you can decimate (reduce) the polygons easily. I recommend this quick tutorial - just follow the steps - very easy.

Looks great! Love wire Marvin, @Jeffrey_1
