I’m looking for a designer who’s experience in making and printing 3d maps. Attached is the project area. I need the highest detail possible (LiDar data or something really detailed like that). Printed size would be 18"x18" and can be divided into 4-6 tiles to fit your printing bed. Budget is $400. Looking forward to hearing from you!

@jsuozzi42 Hey there John! Well, we at Arca Somni have a cartographer and GIS expert in our team. We printed some map parts in cooperation with him for his projects. We are not some great experts on the field but we do great job at printing stuff and he for sure can make awesome 3D map models for us to print.

The downside is that we are in Croatia, and shipping would cost much. We do however have a friend from US comming for a wisit during the Easter holidays, so if thats not too long to wait he can maybe deliver it to you in the beginning of April. Hes a born New Yorker (who lives in SF at the moment).

Anyways, if you dont find anyone closer to you, let me know if we can help you out somehow.

Cheers,

Hi there,

Are you looking to do this with 3D scanned data or are you looking for someone to design you a scale model from scratch?

Hi Ariel, Yes from 3d scan data like DEM, LiDar, etc. Think of projects from Shapeways TinyMTN

Hi!

thanks for finding this thread and replying. That job I posted came and went but for personal interest I am curious about doing prince of wales island in AK. For the stl, what would you be comfortable charging me?

John,

I can give you a nicely-detailed, coastal-edged STL for $200. Would you want the adjacent islands free-floating or connected by a little segment to the main island? We can take this to email if you’re more comfortable there: tinymtnbiz@gmail.com
