Versitle Generic software

hi everyone. Does anyone know of generic or custom software that happens to work with any type of printer that could allow you to pause a print add electronics and then continue? I know most softwear that comes with printers allows a pause but i’m looking for something with a bit more ‘intelligence’ and control.

Repetier host will allow you to pause. You can configure a pause script for your printer to say move the head up and away to provide clearance to install your electronics. You need to be careful though. If your electronics stand above the layer height of the last layer once installed. The slicer programs assume

they have clear motion over the whole bed of the printer for each new layer. Even though nothing is printing the head my travel right through your electronics. Be sure to review both the print travel and the non print travel to make sure there is not potential for a crash. Turning on do not /minimize crossing perimeters switch in the slicer could help if you see a problem.

Simplify3D is by far the best I’ve seen. It supports almost every printer except mine
