First of all, you have replicator 1 dual clone not a rep 2. If you choose rep 2 anywhere your prints will come out 6% smaller. And if you install rep 2 firmware you will get just blocks across your lcd. Again, I know that CTC may have even said it is a rep 2, you have a replicator dual. Make sure your only using the most current repg, if you have to use it at all, it is found on the sailfish thingiverse page. Sailfish Firmware by jetty - Thingiverse 4 . I personally use s3d for slicing and think that it’s the bee’s knee’s, but it’s pricey. If your going to use any other slicer (other then mbi) you will need to use gpx to convert from gcode to .x3g.

Hi there, you don’t have to use replicatorG to slice the models with. You can use programs like Makerware (Makerbot’s slicing software, the CTC is a clone of the Makerbot Replicator), Slic3r or Cura. I would recommend Makerware or Slic3r as these are a lot easier to use than ReplicatorG. The only thing I use Rep-G for now is firmware or settings updates.

Slicing-wise, myself I use Simplify3D, which is paid software, but imo, one of the best slicers out there and does for all 3 of my printers.

Hi

my PC hard disk died last weekend.

When I put the sd card in to reinstall maker wear, drivers ect for my ctc it’s blank!

Could somone do me a copy?

i would be happy to cover cost ect

You’re probably lucky those files are empty, ctc provides the wrong versions anyway. You should ignore the repg that was provided and use the version hosted on thingiverse, with the sailfish firmware. Using the version provided will corrupt your EEPROM tables and cause troubles specific to the stored off sets. As far as makerware is concerned it’s available on mbi’s website for download, that will install any drivers you need. One warning, makerbot has been getting more and more hostile towards the clones and they have made it very difficult to adjust settings. If you email me at adamcooks at gmail dot com, I will send you a link to my Dropbox hosted version 2.4 which was the last time an update concerning the replicator 1 was applied. It can also be found in a few Google groups, namely the ctc, Wanhao and flashforge groups.
