Check out Marvin in his silk attire! Used the twoBEars BioFila Silk Biodegradable Filament on this one and it turned out great. A little under extrusion i think with all the little blemishes (hard to tell with this silk!) so we’re gonna tweak the settings a bit next time.
Biofila Silk was named for the smooth, shiny, liquid-like qualities of finished prints. This look is achieved from lignin, which is a polymer commonly found in the aromatic alcohols of wood, algea, and plant cell walls. Not only do these awesome little lignins make for a beautiful print, but they also make BioFila Silk 100% biodegradable.
Big ups to our friends at Matterhackers Store | MatterHackers for helping bring this (and many other cool filaments) to market.

Layer thickness 0.2 and still so smooth! nice one, was it actually the first try?
Look at Marvin, thinks he’s so smooth!
How do you like him, @?
HI Arnoldas - yep turned out pretty smooth - he is 2:1 size so that may be decieving a bit. It was my second print - first one I did at the recommended setting of .4 layer height but while it turned out fine I knew we could get better detail. We’ll try even better next time but it does extrude quite a bit differently i think based on the organic materials so we’ll see what happens! I’ll update the thread when we get around to printing it again.
