i have 4 different nozzles for my printer and setting it up in my hub is a nightmare…
for each nozzle i have a max layer height can do (nozzle dia - 20%) so a range of heights would make it more eazy as i can just enter a range… the preset choices on the list does not match up with standard nozzle diameter and the -20% rule of thumb

I agree about the preset choices not being right sometimes. E.g. for bamboofill and corkfill, I offer 0.25mm (medium) and 0.38mm (coarse) layer heights, but I have to put them in as 250 and 400 micron, as there’s no 380 micron option. Being able to add a range or custom values would be great for me too.

This is something that we are discussing internally as well here - a free number field for layer heights certainly would be a good way to improve this.

What I did was to just choose the closest value I could which was not below the real value. E.g. for my 380 micron layer height, I entered 400 (but would not have entered 350). I figure nobody would complain that the finish is a tiny bit better than it should be based on the numbers. That way, you can have your hub up and running in the meantime. And when the site gets tweaked to allow custom layer heights, I’ll just update to match reality.

playing devils advocate IMHO I think there are so many choices for the client as it is, material color infill shells and resolution, I think sticking to 100-200-300 (high medium standard/low) would be a better option, to be honest i dont think most customers know the difference btw 300 and 380

i can vote for that… but if they have those 3 simple options why do we have to fry our brains with 10 more options?
reason why i picked a range of heights is to make it simple while at the same time telling what options i really have…

I think that’s more a case of the hubs making a sensible decision in terms of the range of options available. Mine vary per material (HIPS/ABS/PLA/specials), and I generally have a high and lower quality for each one. But they vary per material - the “high” option for PLA is much finer than the “high” for wood-filled filaments. And I like them to be listed accurately for each.
I agree about the possbility of too much choice though… if I were offering 5 layer height options per material, that would be too much in my opinion.
Hopefully that makes sense…

it does… i would also go for 3 heights for each material… but i want it to be the right values and not some “close enough” values

@markembling @Boelle exactly, setting your layer height as close as you can is a good workaround to getting your Hub online. I’m afraid I can’t tell you when exactly we will be working on it as we have finite development resources and a long list of updates that we have to make to ensure the platform runs smoothly.
until you get there could you at least add these values to the pick list?
